Overview

Established in the year 1939, the College of Engineering is one of the leading institutions in the state as well as the country. The college has been accredited by the NBA and AICTE. He has multiple courses in UG, PG in different fields and has been affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. This college is also known as CET. While talking about the history and origin of the college, it is prevalent that this was the first college in Kerala, established in the period of the Travancore king. It is a government college. The college campus is over 125 acres; it is one of the most spacious campus which has all the necessary facilities. The students of CET have a rich community where they run their courses as well as other intra-collegiate festivals and events. The college focuses on the overall development of its students as they prepare them for the real world.

Course Highlights 

● Every course that COE offers is unique on its own. There are multiple courses and each course prepares the students for the outside world and achieves success.

● All the courses offered at the college are updated every year. They are highly researched therefore they are in par with the present market world enabling students to be prepared.

● There is a perfect balance of practical as well as theoretical knowledge that every course offers. The practical knowledge helps students to practice their theoretical knowledge where their theory helps them create a strong base for uploading further knowledge.

● The faculty is highly qualified. The teachers have a lot of experience and knowledge, they try to help students in every possible way.

Admission Process

There are more than 50 courses that the college offers including architecture and the admission process is similar however every course requires a different entrance exam. The application process is only available offline after every candidate has given the required entrance exam for the course they are supposed to apply for through offline mode.

● Visit the official website of the college and go on the academics tab.

● Click and open the link to the PG and UG courses and the candidate can apply for them.

● Click on the apply now tab. And the application will be available.

● After downloading the application, the candidate has to take a printout of the same.

● The candidate has to fill out the application, along with attaching the required mandatory documents.

● The application has to be submitted to the college's office.

After submission of the application if the candidate is selected further they will be informed through email or SMS.

Result and Cut off

All the courses that the college offers are merit-based. Therefore the candidate has to give an entrance exam prior to taking admission in the college. The candidates are supposed to pass the required entrance exams and score qualifying marks to secure a seat in COE. Every course required a unique entrance exam like NATA or GATE. However, for the selection of architecture courses, the candidate has to score required marks in KEAM / NATA after which they have to be a part of a personal interview as well as a group discussion. The admission is based on the candidate's merit score in the entrance exam along with a 10+2 score for UG admission and the graduation score for PG courses. The candidates receive their seats according to the score obtained in the entrance exams and later they have to confirm it.

Placements

The places in COE are remarkable and have been growing every year. Some of the popular recruiters are Accenture, Infosys, Google, Deloitte, HP, TCS, ITC, Amazon, Vedanta, etc. Infosys has been the star recruiter in the past years. The students of COE have been placed with the best organization across India and the packages are seemingly very nice. COE has a very active placement cell that initiates and organizes placements every year, the placement cell also organizes different workshops for the students prior to the placements to help them achieve the best opportunity they can. The packages offered in the college have a wide range, while it can range according to the course and degree. There is a basic package that every company provides. The lowest can range from 10 LPA to 14 LPA while the highest can go up to 44 LPA.

Campus Facilities

The campus of the college of engineering is closed with some of the best facilities. The college has the facility for a hostel for both boys and girls. There are multiple sports complexes for students to enjoy like badminton court, basketball court, cricket, and football ground as well as volleyball court where students can play. There are various labs and workshops for the student's use as a computer, high voltage, measurements, geology, geotechnical engineering lab, etc. The campus also has a WiFi facility along with a library, gym as well as a cafeteria and convenience store. All these campus facilities make it a great place for students to have a great and comfortable environment for studying as well as enjoying their free time.
